History & Welcome

VGPC was established in 1992 as a forum for the exchange of ideas and information about planned giving. From its initial core of 15 planned giving officers and allied professionals, the group has grown to over one hundred members.

The group provides the opportunity for members to gather and learn from each other and from guest speakers at the four luncheon meetings each year. In addition, VGPC usually sponsors an annual conference in the fall to provide awareness and education about charitable gift planning.

VGPC is an affiliated council of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (formerly the  National Committee on Planned Giving or NCPG), which serves as the professional association for more than 11,000 members whose work includes developing, marketing, and administering charitable planned gifts. Benefits of membership include programs and publications that are shaping the future of gift planning.
